INUPA PROJECT

Power Shades.

Key Challenge.

This home was a modern masterpiece surrounded by several glass walls, with the longest going from top to bottom of the house coming to about 10 meters. The challenge was to cover everywhere with shades.

Our Solution.

We embarked on the largest motorized shading project in our company with this project. We could use none other than Lutron. From manual shades for powder rooms to custom-built 10-meter tall shades, we designed an installed elegant motorized Lutron shading for every single window in this glass house. It was indeed a masterpiece. From our success, we went on to install the delivery and integrate the lighting, automation, and security system.

The Technology

PowerShades are motorized window shades that can be integrated into a building to enhance its functionality and energy efficiency. Here’s a general overview of how PowerShades can be integrated into a building:

  1. Planning and Design: Integration of PowerShades begins during the planning and design phase of the building. Architects and designers work with automation experts to identify the best locations for window shades based on factors like sunlight, privacy, and aesthetics.
  2. Selection of PowerShades: The type, size, and fabric of PowerShades are carefully chosen to match the building’s design and functional requirements. There are various options, including roller shades, cellular shades, and more, each with different features and benefits.
  3. Wiring and Power: During construction or renovation, wiring is installed to power the motorized shades. This includes electrical outlets and connections to a central control system, which can be wired or wireless depending on the technology used.
  4. Control System: A central control system is installed, often integrated with the building’s smart home or building automation system. This system allows users to control the PowerShades remotely through apps, voice commands, or programmed schedules. It can also respond to environmental sensors, adjusting shades based on factors like temperature and sunlight.
  5. Installation: Once the building’s structure and wiring are ready, the PowerShades are installed. This involves mounting the shades in the chosen locations and connecting them to the power and control systems.
  6. Programming and Customization: The control system is programmed to meet the specific needs of the building and its occupants. This includes setting schedules for shade movement, adjusting sensitivity to external factors, and integrating with other automation systems such as lighting and HVAC.
  7. User Training: Building occupants are trained on how to use the PowerShades and the control system. This typically involves using a user-friendly interface to raise, lower, or adjust the shades as needed.
  8. Maintenance and Support: Regular maintenance is required to ensure the smooth operation of PowerShades. This may include checking for mechanical issues, updating software, and replacing batteries if the shades are wireless.
  9. Benefits: Once integrated, PowerShades offer numerous benefits to the building and its occupants. These include improved energy efficiency by reducing heating and cooling costs, enhanced privacy, protection of interior furnishings from UV rays, and the convenience of automated control.
  10. Scalability: Depending on the building’s needs and budget, PowerShades can be integrated into individual rooms, specific areas, or throughout the entire building. This scalability allows for flexibility in design and functionality.

The integration of PowerShades in a building enhances comfort, energy efficiency, and convenience while adding a touch of modernity and automation to the space. It’s a valuable addition to both residential and commercial buildings, contributing to a more sustainable and user-friendly environment.
